대전평생교육진흥원이 9일 제7대 원장 취임식을 열고 본격적인 새 운영 체제에 돌입했다. 이번 취임을 계기로 평생학습 중심기관으로서의 기능 강화와 시민 참여 확대가 기대된다.

이주연 신임 원장은 취임사에서 “대전평생교육진흥원이 지역을 대표하는 평생교육 인재양성 기관으로 자리매김할 수 있도록 현장의 목소리에 귀 기울이며 책임감 있는 혁신을 추진하겠다”고 밝혔다. 

그는 이어 “대전시 시정 방향에 발맞춰 수요자 중심의 교육과정을 확대하고, 취약계층의 학습 참여 기회를 보장해 모두에게 열린 배움터를 만들겠다”고 강조했다.

이날 취임식은 기관 비전 선포와 직원 대표 환영 인사 등 간소하지만 내실 있게 진행됐다. 진흥원은 취임식을 시작으로 올해 중 신규 평생교육 사업 계획을 순차적으로 공개하고, 시민의 참여와 소통을 강화해 나갈 방침이다.
