지난해 설립한 대전투자금융 가동 본격화… 6대 전략산업에 '마중물' 

상반기 자본금 우선 투입 시작으로 하반기 모펀드 활용해 투자 확대

대전광역시가 지역의 미래를 책임질 6대 전략산업을 육성하기 위해 단순 예산 지원을 넘어 '직접 투자자'로서의 행보를 본격화한다. 

대전시는 2026년 한 해 동안 대전투자금융을 통해 총 130억 원 규모의 직접투자를 단행하며 지역 혁신기업들의 성장을 견인할 계획이다.

이번 투자의 핵심은 '적시성'과 '효율성'이다. 

대전시는 우선 대전투자금융의 자본금을 활용해 30억 원 범위 내에서 상반기투자에 나선다는 계획이다.

당장 오는 2월에서 3월 사이 유망 기업 발굴과 심사를 마치고, 업체당 최대 10억 원까지 자금을 수혈할 예정이다.

대전시는 직접투자금 30억을 더해 투자자를 모집해 투자를 하는 관계로 직접 투자는 업체당 10억 원을 넘는 투자가 이루어 질것으로 내다보고 있어 기술에 따라 실제 투자금액이 어느정도 까지 이루어 질것인지는 업체가 보유한 기술력에 따라 다를 수 있을 것이라고 내다봤다.

정부의 보조금 지원이 일회성 비용 지원에 그쳤다면, 이번 직접투자는 기업의 지분을 확보하거나 채권을 인수하는 방식으로 이루어져 기업과 시가 성장의 과실을 공유하는 선순환 구조를 지향한다. 

대전시는 지난해 조성한 2048억 모펀드를 가동해 올 하반기 부터 100억 원 범위 내에서 직접 투자도 계획하고 있어 자본금에서 직접투자로 결정한 30억 원을 포함해 130억 원을 직접 투자한다.

모펀드 운영을 위한 절차도 속도를 내고 있다. 

대전시는 올해 안으로 펀드 운용사를 선정하고 출자자 모집 및 투자 대상 기업 선정을 마칠 계획이다. 100억 원의 직접투자는 철저한 기업 진단과 절차를 거쳐야 하는 만큼 하반기부터 가능할 것으로 보이며, 이는 지역 내 벤처 생태계에 강력한 활력을 불어넣을 것으로 기대된다.

대전시가 육성 중인 6대 전략산업인 ▲우주항공 ▲바이오헬스 ▲나노·반도체 ▲국방 ▲양자 ▲로봇 분야다. 

대전시는 각 산업의 특성에 맞는 맞춤형 투자 방식을 도입해 기업들이 연구개발(R&D) 고비를 넘기고 사업화에 성공할 수 있도록 '데스밸리(Death Valley)' 구간을 함께 건너겠다는 구상이다.
