세종시가 행정수도 완성 등을 위해 그간 건의해 온 핵심 사업이 내년도 정부 예산안에 대거 포함되면서 시 출범 이후 최대 규모인 정부예산 1조 7,320억 원을 확보했다.

3일 시에 따르면  앞서 열린 국회 본회의에서 세종시 관련 예산이 정부안 대비 41억 원 늘어난 1조 7,320억 원으로 증액 의결됐다.

특히 숙원사업인 세종지방법원 설치 설계비가 반영되고 세종공동캠퍼스 내 바이오지원센터 건립 등 신규사업이 다수 반영됐다.

그동안 최민호 시장과 이승원 경제부시장 등은 국비 확보를 위해 국회의 예산결산특별위원회 심사 기간 여러 차례 국회를 방문해 주요 시정 현안 사업에 대한 국비 지원 필요성을 설명해 왔다.

이와 함께 지역구 국회의원 및 행복청과 협력체계를 구축하고 여야 국회의원 및 기획재정부 차관, 예산실장 등 정부 관계자를 만나 세종시 발전을 위한 적극적인 지원과 관심을 건의해 왔다.

그 결과 세종지방법원 설치 설계비 10억 원이 신규로 반영돼 세종시가 행정·입법·사법의 3대 국가 중추 기능을 모두 갖춘 실질적 행정수도로 발돋움할 수 있는 계기를 마련했다는게 시측 설명이다.

정부안에 반영되지 않았던 세종공동캠퍼스 공익법인 운영비 9억 원도 반영돼 공동캠퍼스 입주 대학에 원활한 행정지원이 가능하게 됐다.

이와 함께 충남대 의대, 충북대 수의대가 활용할 바이오지원센터 기자재 설치 예산이 20억 원 신규로 반영, 인근 기업체와 대전-세종-충북을 잇는 충청권 바이오 융합 허브 구축을 위한 기틀을 마련했다.

또 파크골프장 표준모델 개발을 위한 용역비 1억 5,000만 원이 반영돼 국가 차원에서 공통화된 규격과 안전기준을 마련할 수 있게 될 전망이다.

시는 표준모델 개발 후 관내에 테스트베드로 활용할 파크골프장 건립까지 충분한 예산 지원이 이어질 수 있도록 노력한다는 계획이다.

아울러 정부안에 반영됐던 시 핵심 사업은 모두 감액 없이 모두 원안대로 확정됐다.

이에 따라 제천횡단 지하차도 건설 3억 원, 한글문화단지 조성 3억 원, 폐기물처리시설 건립 설계비 3억 원 등을 확보해 대규모 신규사업의 추진 동력을 얻게 됐다.

또 국회세종의사당 건립 956억 원, 대통령 제2집무실 건립 240억 원 등 행정수도 완성을 위한 핵심 사업도 원안대로 확정됐다.

국립민속박물관 건립 154억 원, 대한민국 문화도시 조성 사업 40억 원 등 계속사업도 차질없이 반영됐다.
