이은권 국민의힘 대전시당위원장이 내년 2026년 지방선거를 앞두고 “공정하고 투명한 공천으로 시민 신뢰를 얻는 선거를 치르겠다”며 지방선거 승리를 위한 비전과 전략 방향을 제시했다.

이 위원장은 10일 오전 대전시의회 기자실에서 열린 기자간담회에서 “이번 지방선거는 대전의 미래 방향과 당의 명운이 걸린 중대한 승부”라며 “누구에게나 열린 공정한 경쟁 체계를 확립하고, 지역을 위해 일할 수 있는 후보를 발굴해 강한 조직으로 승부하겠다”고 밝혔다. 

그러면서 “공정한 공천이 곧 당의 신뢰이며, 투명한 경선이 승리의 시작”이라고 강조했다.

또한 “대전 발전과 시민 삶의 질 향상을 위해 당내외 의견 차이를 넘어 소통과 통합을 실천하겠다”며 “정당의 울타리를 넘어 지역 현안을 함께 해결하는 협력의 정치를 실현하겠다”고 말했다. 

이은권 위원장은 특히 여야 갈등 구도를 완화하고 지역 현안 중심의 실용 정치로 시민에게 다가가는 정당으로 거듭나겠다는 의지를 나타냈다.

이 위원장은 전략적으로 시장 선거를 핵심 승부처로 꼽으며 “대전시장 선거에 총력을 기울이고, 5개 구청장 선거에서도 최소 4곳 이상 승리하겠다”고 목표를 제시했다. 

그는 “정치는 하루가 다르게 변하지만 방심하지 않고 조직력과 공정경쟁 원칙으로 승리 기반을 다지겠다”고 밝혔다.

대전·충남 행정통합 이슈와 관련해서는 “시도 간 통합의 필요성에는 여야 모두 공감하지만 시기적으로 속도 조절이 필요하다”며 “정치적 이해관계를 넘어 실질적 행정효율 개선으로 이어져야 한다”고 언급했다. 

또 “민주당 내에서도 공감대가 있지만, 중앙당의 당론 부담으로 적극적인 발언이 어려운 상황”이라고 진단했다.

이 위원장은 현 대전시정에 대해서도 “이장우 시장이 도시철도 2호선과 유성터미널 해결 등 그동안 지연된 현안을 과감하게 추진하고 있다”며 “시당 차원에서도 강력히 뒷받침하겠다”고 했다.

그는 “당선인 중심이 아닌 시민 중심의 시당이 되도록 당원과 시정, 의회, 국회가 함께 정책 소통 구조를 만들어 가겠다”고 덧붙였다.
