충남 공주시가 주최하고 공주시사이클연맹이 후원한 ‘2025 공주백제 그란폰도’가 지난 주말 백제체육관 일원에서 열려 전국 자전거 동호인 3천여 명이 참여한 가운데 성황리에 마무리됐다.

이번 대회는 경쟁을 지양하고 함께 달리는 즐거움에 초점을 맞췄다. 코스는 135km의 장거리 ‘그란폰도’와 79km의 중거리 ‘메디오폰도’ 두 구간으로 구성됐다. 장거리 코스는 청양 동강리와 공주 사곡면, 유구읍, 우성면을 거쳐 출발지로 돌아오는 원형 루트로 짜였고, 중거리 코스는 신풍면 입동 교차로에서 분기해 백제체육관으로 이어졌다.

참가자들은 가을빛으로 물든 금강과 1,500년 역사를 품은 백제 고도의 풍경 속을 달리며 특별한 경험을 나눴다. 완주자에게는 공산성을 형상화한 메달과 기념품이 제공돼 현장의 분위기를 더했다.
