대전이 글로벌 창업·투자 중심지로 도약하기 위한 대규모 스타트업 행사가 막을 올렸다.

대전시와 중소벤처기업부가 공동 주최하는 ‘2025 스타트업코리아 투자위크’가 16일 유성구 욧골문화공원에서 개막했다. 

올해로 3회째를 맞은 이번 행사는 스타트업과 투자기관을 잇는 창업·투자 축제로, 4일간 총 84개 프로그램에 151개 기관이 참여하는 대규모 교류의 장으로 펼쳐진다.

개막식에는 이장우 대전시장과 임정욱 중소벤처기업부 벤처혁신실장, 조원휘 대전시의회 의장, 서철모 서구청장, 정용래 유성구청장, 김정겸 충남대 총장, 이승철 한남대 총장을 비롯해 국내·외 투자사와 스타트업 관계자 100여 명이 참석해 자리를 빛냈다.

투자위크의 특징은 지역 골목 상권과 연계한 전국 최초의 ‘소상공인 점포형 1:1 투자 상담’이다. 행사 기간 동안 30곳 점포에서 스타트업과 투자자가 직접 만나는 밋업이 이루어져 실질적 투자 성과가 기대된다.

이장우 시장과 주요 참석자 70여 명은 개막식 직후 와이앤아처, 삼익벤처스, 에트리홀딩스 등 투자사가 참여한 상담장과 대학 창업동아리 전시관 등 9개 현장을 돌며 분위기를 살펴봤다.

 글로벌 포럼에서는 국내 스타트업의 해외 진출과 해외 스타트업의 한국 내 진입을 지원하는 프로그램이 동시에 진행돼, 대전을 세계 창업 네트워크의 허브로 부각시키는 계기가 될 전망이다.

이 시장은 “국내외 투자자와 스타트업이 함께하는 이번 행사는 대전이 창업하기 좋은 도시, 투자하기 좋은 도시로 도약하는 전환점”이라며 “지역 혁신 스타트업이 글로벌 무대로 뻗어나갈 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다.

'2025 Startup Korea Investment Week' Opens… Daejeon Emerges as a Global Startup Hub

A large-scale startup event aimed at establishing Daejeon as a global startup and investment hub has kicked off.

'2025 Startup Korea Investment Week,' co-hosted by the Daejeon Metropolitan Government and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, opened on the 16th at Yotgol Cultural Park in Yuseong-gu.

Now in its third year, the event is a startup and investment festival connecting startups and investment institutions. Over four days, the event will feature 84 programs and 151 participating institutions, creating a large-scale networking platform.

A key feature of Investment Week is the nation's first "one-on-one investment consultations for small business owners" in partnership with local businesses. During the event, meetups will take place at 30 stores, allowing startups and investors to meet face-to-face, promising tangible investment results.

Immediately following the opening ceremony, Mayor Lee Jang-woo and approximately 70 key attendees toured nine venues, including consultation rooms with investment firms such as Y&Archer, Samik Ventures, and Etri Holdings, and exhibition halls for university startup clubs, to gauge the atmosphere.

The Global Forum will also feature programs supporting domestic startups' overseas expansion and international startups' entry into Korea, highlighting Daejeon's position as a hub for the global startup network.

Mayor Lee stated, "This event, bringing together domestic and international investors and startups, marks a turning point for Daejeon's advancement as a city ideal for startups and investment." He added, "We will actively support local innovative startups as they expand into the global market."
