충남 당진시가 집중호우로 인한 피해를 인정받아 6일 행정안전부로부터 특별재난지역으로 공식 선포됐다. 

시에 따르면 지난 7월 16일부터 17일까지 이틀간 쏟아진 기록적인 폭우로 주택과 상가가 침수되고 도로와 제방이 붕괴되는 등 피해가 잇따랐다. 이로 인해 시는 조속한 복구와 주민 지원을 위해 정부에 특별재난지역 지정을 건의했고, 결국 지정이 확정됐다.

당진시가 집계한 자료에 따르면, 이번 호우로 인한 총 피해 건수는 7,689건에 이른다. 전체 피해액은 약 294억 1,400만 원으로 추산되며, 이 가운데 공공시설 피해가 516건(약 179억 원), 사유시설 피해가 7,173건(약 115억 원)으로 분석됐다.
