대전시가 8일부터 16일까지 열리는 ‘대전 0시 축제’를 맞아 교통 혼잡을 예방하고 시민 안전을 확보하기 위해 불법 주·정차 차량 단속을 대폭 강화한다고 6일 밝혔다.

이번 축제는 대전역에서 옛 충남도청까지 약 1km 구간을 차 없는 거리로 조성해 진행되며, 행사 준비 기간을 포함한 6일 오전 5시부터 17일 자정까지 총 12일간 이 구간과 주변 도로에서 차량 통행이 전면 통제된다.

전면 통제 구간 및 주·정차 금지 구역은 중앙로(대전역~옛 충남도청), 대종로(NC백화점~으능정이네거리), 버스 우회도로(대전역~옛 충남도청 일대)와 주요 행사장 주변 등이다. 

버스 우회도로는 대전로, 우암로, 보문로, 대흥로로 구성되며 대전삼성초등학교, 대전여자상업고, 대전세무서 등이 경유지로 포함된다.

단속은 대전시 운송주차과와 동구·중구가 합동으로 구성한 단속반이 담당하며, 하루 11대의 단속 차량이 우회도로 및 인근 도로를 집중 단속한다. 또한, 전면 통제 구간과 주요 행사장 주변에는 14명의 도보 단속원이 배치되어 실시간으로 단속을 강화할 예정이다.
