"이제는 최고위원회 아닌 '대표단'…권위주의 탈피해야"

국민의힘 개혁·당 내 인재구성 다양화 필요성 강조

국민의힘 안철수 국회의원이 22일 오후 대전시의회 기자실에서 가진 기자간담회를 통해 당대표 출마를 위한 의지를 내비치며 “국민 눈높이에 맞는 개혁 없는 정당에 미래는 없다”고 단언했다.

간담회 자리에서 안 의원은 “과거 국민의힘 내부가 계파 간 갈등으로 신뢰를 잃어왔다”며 “이번 전당대회는 단순한 지도부 선출을 넘어, 당의 노선을 개혁 중심으로 정립할 수 있는 기회가 돼야 한다”고 밝혔다.

혁신안 중 하나로는 ‘최고위원회’ 명칭을 ‘대표단 회의’로 바꾸는 안을 제시했다. “최고위원이란 용어는 권위주의 시절의 산물로, 현재 국민이 체감하는 정치 현실과 괴리가 있다”며 “형식과 언어가 의미를 만들고, 인식과 행동도 변화시킨다”고 강조했다.

당내 단일화 논의에 대해서는 “후보 등록조차 시작되지 않은 시점에서의 단일화 주장은 성급하다”며 “결선투표가 있는 구조에서는 당원들이 자연스럽게 선택해줄 것”이라는 입장을 밝혔다.

또한 경선 룰과 관련해 안 의원은 “현재 8:2 비중의 당원-여론조사 비율은 일반 국민들의 관심을 떨어뜨리는 구조”라며 “5:5 또는 3:7처럼 국민 참여 비중을 크게 늘려야 한다는 것이 개혁 방향”이라고 주장했다.
