충남 금산군이 수년째 착공되지 않은 채 방치되고 있는 건축허가 현장을 정비하기 위해 전면적인 점검에 나선다고 4일 밝혔다. 

군은 오는 8월 말까지 장기 미착공 건축물에 대한 실태 조사를 벌이고, 실제 공사가 이뤄지지 않은 대상에 대해서는 허가 취소를 추진할 방침이다.

점검 대상은 지난 2008년 이후 건축허가 또는 건축신고를 받은 뒤 현재까지 사용승인을 받지 못한 현장이다. 이 가운데 실제 공사에 착수하지 않은 경우에는 관련 법령에 따라 허가가 취소될 수 있다.

금산군 도시건축과는 현장 확인을 통해 미착공 상태가 확인되면 의견 제출 기회를 부여하고, 이후 청문 절차를 거쳐 허가 취소 여부 등을 최종 결정할 계획이다. 

특히 이번 조사는 장기 미착공 건축물로 인한 도시 경관 저해, 주민 불안 요인 등을 사전에 차단하기 위한 조치로, 허가권자의 권한을 실효성 있게 운영하려는 취지다. 

군은 점검 과정에서 안전사고가 우려되는 현장이 발견될 경우, 해당 건축 관계자와의 협의를 통해 위험 요소를 사전에 제거하겠다는 방침도 함께 내놨다.

군 관계자는 이번 일제 정비에 대해 “허가만 받고 장기간 착공하지 않는 행위는 공공의 이익을 해칠 수 있다”며 “앞으로도 주기적인 실태조사를 통해 비정상적인 건축행위에 대한 관리·감독을 강화해 나가겠다”고 전했다.
