대전시의회가 청소년 문화예술교육의 현재를 진단하고, 미래 인재 양성을 위한 정책 방향을 모색하는 뜻깊은 자리를 마련했다.

대전시의회는 3일 시의회 소통실에서 김민숙 의원(더불어민주당, 비례대표) 주재로 ‘청소년 문화예술교육의 가치와 역할 모색을 위한 정책토론회’를 개최했다고 밝혔다. 

이번 행사는 대전시의회 교육위원회와 연구단체인 대전미래교육연구회가 공동 주관했으며, 다양한 교육·예술 전문가들이 참여해 심도 있는 논의를 펼쳤다.

토론회는 특히 인공지능(AI) 기반 사회가 빠르게 도래하는 가운데, 문화예술교육이 청소년의 전인적 성장을 이끄는 핵심 요소임을 조명하는 데 초점을 맞췄다. 이를 통해 대전지역 청소년들이 창의성과 감성을 갖춘 인재로 성장할 수 있도록, 정책적 뒷받침이 절실하다는 목소리가 이어졌다.

발제자로 나선 지은주 대전오페라단장은 문화예술교육의 다차원적 효과를 강조했다. 그는 “청소년기 문화예술 활동은 자존감과 정서적 안정, 창의력은 물론 타인과의 소통 능력까지 길러주는 중요한 수단”이라며, “학교 내외 교육기관과 지역 문화예술계의 유기적 협력이 필수적”이라고 제안했다.

이어진 지정토론에는 김경희 교육만세 상임이사, 김황식 극단 우금치 지도위원, 이희내 CMB 작가, 채송화 학부모 대표, 김희정 대전시교육청 체육예술건강과장이 참여해 실천 중심의 다양한 의견을 공유했다.

토론자들은 한목소리로 “문화예술교육은 단순한 취미나 선택 과목이 아니라, 미래 사회를 이끌 창의융합형 인재 양성의 기초”라며, “지역사회의 협력 체계 강화, 학교 현장의 교육 여건 개선, 특히 예술 강사의 안정적인 처우 개선이 동반되어야 한다”고 강조했다.

토론회를 마무리하며 김민숙 의원은 “청소년 문화예술교육이야말로 미래를 위한 투자”라며, “아이들이 풍성한 문화예술을 일상 속에서 누릴 수 있도록 제도적 기반을 강화하고, 정책적 노력을 지속해나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

The Daejeon City Council has prepared a meaningful event to diagnose the current status of youth culture and arts education and seek policy directions for nurturing future talents.

On the 3rd, the Daejeon City Council announced that it held a ‘Policy Discussion for Seeking the Value and Role of Youth Culture and Arts Education’ in the city council communication room, chaired by Assembly Member Kim Min-sook (Democratic Party of Korea, proportional representation).
