대전시가 지역 대학생들과 손잡고 도시브랜드 가치를 높이기 위한 캐릭터 프로젝트를 성공적으로 마무리했다.

대전시는 3일 한남대학교 메이커스페이스에서 ‘2025 꿈씨패밀리 스포츠디자인 산학협력 프로젝트’의 최종 보고회를 열고, 지난 4개월간 지역 대학생들이 직접 기획하고 제작한 ‘스포츠 꿈돌이’ 캐릭터 결과물을 공개했다.

이번 프로젝트는 대전시와 한남대학교 융합디자인학과, 목원대학교 시각커뮤니케이션디자인학과 학생들이 함께 참여한 산학협력 프로그램으로, 기존 대전시 상징 캐릭터인 ‘꿈돌이’를 스포츠 테마에 맞게 새롭게 재해석해 다양한 종목별 캐릭터로 발전시키는 데 초점을 맞췄다.

학생들은 각 종목의 특성을 반영한 의상과 동작을 디자인했으며, 캐릭터를 단순한 그림에 그치지 않고 2D 및 3D 이미지, 굿즈(티셔츠·선캡), 포스터, SNS 콘텐츠 등으로 실물화해 실무 중심의 디자인 역량을 높였다. 또한, 현장 피드백을 지속적으로 반영하며 디자인을 고도화하는 과정을 통해 실질적인 브랜딩 기획 역량도 키웠다.

대전시는 이번 결과물을 기반으로 디자인 가이드라인과 사용 승인 절차 등을 마친 뒤, 전국체전과 생활체육대회 등 주요 스포츠 행사뿐 아니라 온라인 홍보 콘텐츠, SNS 등 다양한 채널에 ‘스포츠 꿈돌이’를 적극 활용할 계획이다. 디지털 콘텐츠는 QR코드와 연동되어 시민 누구나 쉽게 접근할 수 있게 해, 도시 스포츠 문화에 대한 관심을 끌어올리는 데에도 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

태준업 대전시 체육건강국장은 “짧은 시간 안에 지역 대학생들이 이토록 실용적이고 완성도 높은 결과물을 만들어낸 것이 자랑스럽다”며 “이번 캐릭터들은 실질적으로 대전시 스포츠 마케팅에 활용될 수 있을 만큼 퀄리티가 높고, 향후 활용 가능성도 매우 크다”고 평가했다. 이어 “이런 프로젝트가 단순한 학습의 기회를 넘어, 도시 정책에 참여하는 경험으로 이어지길 바란다”고 덧붙였다.

한편, 대전시는 이번 프로젝트의 성과를 시민과 공유하기 위해 7월 15일부터 17일까지 시청 1층 로비에서 ‘스포츠 꿈돌이’ 전시회를 개최할 예정이다. 16일에는 우수작품에 대한 시상식도 열려, 대전광역시장상이 수여되며 학생들의 노력과 성과를 격려하는 자리가 마련된다.
