대전의 과거와 현재, 그리고 미래를 잇는 대규모 여름축제가 오는 8월 대전 원도심을 배경으로 열린다. 

대전시는 오는 8월 8일부터 16일까지 9일간 대전역에서 옛 충남도청까지 이어지는 중앙로 1km 구간과 원도심 일원에서 ‘2025 대전 0시 축제’를 개최한다고 밝혔다.

올해로 3회째를 맞는 대전 0시 축제는 대전시가 직접 기획·주관하는 대표 여름축제로, ‘대전의 과거-현재-미래를 잇는 시간여행’을 주제로 한다. 

중앙로라는 도시의 역사적 축을 따라 시간의 흐름을 테마로 구간을 구성하고, 과거와 현재, 미래를 각각 상징하는 구역마다 차별화된 콘텐츠를 배치해 관람객에게 도시 전체를 무대로 한 몰입형 체험을 제공할 계획이다.

행사장은 ‘과거존’, ‘현재존’, ‘미래존’의 세 구역으로 나뉘며, 각 존의 시작점은 대전역, 중앙로역, 옛 충남도청이다. 가장 먼저 관람객을 맞이하는 과거존에는 ‘웰컴존’이 새롭게 설치된다. 

대전의 상징인 캐릭터 꿈돌이와 꿈순이 대형 조형물이 배치되고, 지역 제과업체가 참여하는 ‘빵(0)시존’도 함께 운영된다. 대전역 특설무대는 기존 단방향에서 4방향 개방형 무대로 확장되며, 인근 중앙시장과 화월통거리 등 주변 공간도 함께 연계해 활성화된다.

현재존은 다양한 문화예술 콘텐츠와 미디어아트가 결합된 구역이다. 대형 미디어아트 체험 공간인 ‘꿈돌이 아이스호텔’이 설치되고, 자매도시 및 지역 대학·기업이 참여하는 ‘글로컬존’도 조성된다. 중앙로역 앞 특설무대에서는 시립예술단 공연, K-POP 무대, 보훈음악회 등 수준 높은 공연이 펼쳐질 예정이다. 해당 무대는 고화질 LED 원통형 스크린을 활용해 시각적 몰입감을 높인다.

이번 축제의 운영 구상과 실행계획은 6월 30일 대전시청 중회의실에서 열린 축제 운영 용역 중간보고회에서 공개됐다. 

이장우 대전시장은 회의를 주재하며, 축제가 단순한 여가 행사가 아닌 도시 브랜드 제고와 지역경제 회복의 기폭제가 되어야 한다고 강조했다.
