대전시가 민선 8기 3주년을 기념해 시민들과 직접 마주 앉았다. 

대전시는 6월 27일 동구 동대전도서관에서 ‘시민과의 대화’를 개최하고, 그동안의 시정 성과와 남은 과제에 대해 시민들과 허심탄회하게 소통했다.

이번 행사는 ‘함께 만든 3년, 함께 여는 미래’를 슬로건으로, 민선 8기 시정의 지난 3년간의 변화와 앞으로의 비전을 공유하는 자리였다. 현장에는 시민기자단, 청년 참여자, 각 자치구에서 추천받은 시민 등 120여 명이 참석해 대전의 현재와 미래를 함께 그렸다.

행사는 지역 예술팀 ‘레브드집시’의 공연으로 시작되며 문화적 분위기를 한껏 끌어올렸고, 이어 이장우 시장이 직접 무대에 올라 시정 주요 추진성과를 브리핑하며 본격적인 대화를 이끌었다.

현장에서 상영된 영상에는 도시 곳곳에서 변화된 대전의 모습과 이를 체감한 시민들의 인터뷰가 담겨 큰 호응을 얻었다. 이후 질의응답 시간에는 지역 현안과 생활 밀착형 정책에 관한 질문이 쏟아졌고, 이 시장은 분야별로 상세히 답변하며 소통을 이어갔다.

자영업자 지원과 관련해 그는 “단순한 금융지원에 그치지 않고, 온라인 판로 개척과 전통시장 활성화 등 실효성 있는 대책을 강화하겠다”고 말했다.

대전도시철도 2호선 트램 사업에 대한 질문에는 “현재 2028년 개통을 목표로 공사가 진행 중이며, 시민 불편을 최소화하기 위한 우회도로 확보와 대체교통 수단 운영도 함께 추진하고 있다”고 밝혔다. 3~5호선 관련 도시철도망 계획에 대해서는 “국토부와의 협의를 마쳤고, 행정절차가 순조롭게 진행 중”이라고 설명했다.

관광 분야에서는 “숙박 할인과 야간 관광 콘텐츠, 지역 특산품을 연계한 ‘하룻밤 더 머무는 대전’ 프로젝트가 본격화되고 있다”며 “0시축제, 야구경기, 시티투어와도 연계해 체류형 관광도시 기반을 다질 것”이라고 전했다.

이어 그는 관저동 시립도서관은 2026년 착공, 2028년 개관을 목표로 하고 있으며, 대전의료원은 2029년 개원을 향해 착공 준비에 들어갔다고 덧붙였다. 특히 대전의료원은 응급, 분만 등 필수 공공의료 기능 중심의 공공병원으로 시민 건강권 강화에 초점이 맞춰진다.
