충남 청양군이 예산 편성과정에 군민의 직접 참여를 유도하기 위한 실천적 움직임으로 ‘주민참여예산학교’ 운영 횟수를 기존 2회에서 6회로 대폭 늘렸다. 이를 통해 예산 결정 과정의 투명성과 민주성을 강화하고, 지역 구성원들의 예산 제안 역량을 실질적으로 키운다는 계획이다.

군은 지난 10일 청년층을 대상으로 첫 번째 예산학교를 개최한 데 이어, 17일에는 청양군 공무원을 대상으로 두 번째 교육을 진행했다. 청년 교육에서는 지역 발전에 대한 참신한 의견과 정책 제안이 활발히 오갔으며, 공무원 대상 교육에서는 실무적인 실행 방안과 주민참여예산제도의 운영 효율성 제고에 중점을 둔 토론이 이루어졌다.
