충남 논산시(시장 백성현)와 충남개발공사(사장 김병근)는 지난 19일부터 지역 내 주거 취약계층을 위한 주거환경 개선 봉사활동을 공동으로 추진하며 사회공헌에 나섰다.

이번 활동은 단발성 지원을 넘어 실질적인 삶의 질 향상을 목표로 진행됐다. 두 기관은 사전 실태조사를 통해 관내 12가구를 선정했으며, 각 가정의 상황에 맞춰 조명기구 및 배선기구 교체, 위생기구 설치, 소화기 비치 등 주거환경 전반에 걸쳐 개선 작업을 실시했다.

시는 관내 복지 사각지대를 중심으로 주거환경 취약 가구를 선제적으로 발굴하고, 대상자 추천 및 행정적 지원을 맡았다. 충남개발공사는 축적된 기술력과 전문 인력을 바탕으로 현장에 직접 참여해 시공을 담당하며, 양 기관 간 유기적 협업 체계를 구축했다.

특히 홀몸 어르신, 한부모 가정 등 주거환경 개선이 시급한 가구를 중심으로 맞춤형 지원을 제공함으로써, 단순한 물적 지원을 넘어 실질적인 변화를 이끌어냈다는 점에서 의미가 크다는 평가다.
