충남 서산시가 고병원성 조류인플루엔자(AI) 의심 사례 발생에 따라 전파 차단을 위한 긴급 대응에 나섰다. 

시에 따르면, 14일 고북면에 위치한 한 육용오리 사육 농장에서 AI 의사환축이 확인돼, 관련 기관과 협력해 방역 조치를 강화하고 있다.

시는 이날 오전 시청 상황실에서 홍순광 부시장 주재로 긴급 방역대책 회의를 열고, 발생 상황을 공유하는 한편, 방역 추진 현황과 향후 대응 계획을 점검했다. 회의에는 관계 부서인 축산과, 보건소 등 관련 부서장 10여 명도 함께 참석했다.

문제가 된 농장은 출하 전 동물위생시험소에 AI 검사를 의뢰한 것으로 알려졌으며, 검사 결과 H5형 조류인플루엔자 항원이 검출됐다. 현재 초동방역반이 현장에 투입돼 농장 출입을 전면 차단한 상태다. 농림축산검역본부는 해당 항원의 고병원성 여부를 확인 중이며, 최종 판정은 1~3일 내 나올 것으로 보인다.

특히 시는 발생 농장을 중심으로 반경 10㎞ 이내 지역에 대해 가축 이동을 제한하고 있다. 이 지역 내 사육 중인 가금류는 약 22만 마리로 추산된다. 아울러 문제가 된 농장의 육용오리 2만8천여 마리에 대해서는 즉각 살처분을 결정했으며, 폐사체 처리에는 렌더링 방식이 적용된다.

해당 작업에는 방역 기준에 따라 예방접종을 완료한 인력이 투입되며, 방호복 등 개인 보호장비를 착용한 상태에서 진행된다. 시는 살처분과 부대 방역 작업을 15일까지 마무리할 방침이다.

한편 시는 방역차량과 공동방제단을 활용해 발생 농장은 물론, 방역대 내 다른 가금 사육 농장에 대해서도 집중 소독을 이어가고 있다. 가금농가에는 소독약품을 추가 공급해 자체 방역이 원활히 이뤄질 수 있도록 지원할 예정이다.
