대전시교육청은 오는 5월 16일, 대전테크노파크 대강당에서 ‘2025년 고경력 과학기술인 강의역량 향상 연수’를 개최했다. 

이번 연수는 과학교육 현장에 투입될 고경력 과학기술인들의 실질적인 강의 역량을 강화하기 위해 마련된 사전 준비 과정으로, 대전시와 협력해 추진 중인 ‘2025년 고경력 과학기술인 활용 학교 과학교육 멘토링 사업’의 성공적인 운영을 위한 핵심 단계로 평가된다.

이번 연수에서는 과학수업의 실제 경험을 바탕으로 한 실질적인 강의 노하우가 공유됐다. 대전삼성초등학교 이정호 교사와 대전문지중학교 김경아 교사가 강사로 나서, 학교 현장에서의 과학수업 운영 사례와 멘토링에 필요한 교수 전략을 소개하며 참석자들과 생생한 교육 경험을 나눴다.

‘고경력 과학기술인 활용 학교 과학교육 멘토링 사업’은 오는 5월 19일부터 11월 29일까지 약 6개월간 대전지역 초·중·고 총 170개교(초등학교 105개교, 중학교 37개교, 고등학교 28개교)를 대상으로 본격적으로 운영된다. 

총 107개의 과학 프로그램이 350차시에 걸쳐 제공될 예정이며, 정부출연연구기관에서 퇴직한 고경력 과학기술인 76명이 멘토로 참여해 학생들과 직접 만나 실습 중심의 과학수업과 진로 멘토링을 진행한다.

김영진 대전시교육청 과학직업정보과장은 “이번 연수는 고경력 과학기술인의 풍부한 현장 경험과 전문 지식을 학교 교육과 효과적으로 접목하기 위한 사전 준비 작업”이라며, “앞으로도 학생들의 과학적 역량을 키우고 과학기술 인재를 양성하기 위한 프로그램을 꾸준히 확대해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

On May 16, the Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education held the ‘2025 High-Experienced Scientists and Engineers Lecture Capacity Enhancement Training’ at the Daejeon Technopark Grand Auditorium.

This training is a preparatory course designed to strengthen the practical lecture capacity of high-experienced scientists and engineers who will be deployed in the field of science education, and is evaluated as a key step for the successful operation of the ‘2025 High-Experienced Scientists and Engineers Utilization School Science Education Mentoring Project’ being promoted in cooperation with Daejeon City.

In this training, practical lecture know-how based on actual experience in science classes was shared. Teachers Lee Jeong-ho from Daejeon Samsung Elementary School and Kim Gyeong-ah from Daejeon Munji Middle School served as instructors and shared vivid educational experiences with the participants by introducing cases of operating science classes in schools and teaching strategies necessary for mentoring.

The ‘Highly Experienced Scientists and Engineers Utilizing School Science Education Mentoring Project’ will be fully implemented from May 19 to November 29 for approximately 6 months, targeting 170 elementary, middle, and high schools in the Daejeon area (105 elementary schools, 37 middle schools, and 28 high schools).

A total of 107 science programs will be provided over 350 sessions, and 76 highly experienced scientists and engineers who retired from government-funded research institutes will participate as mentors to meet students directly and conduct hands-on science classes and career mentoring.

Kim Young-jin, head of the Science Career Information Division of the Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education, said, “This training is a preliminary preparatory work to effectively integrate the rich field experience and professional knowledge of highly experienced scientists and engineers into school education,” and added, “We will continue to steadily expand programs to enhance students’ scientific capabilities and foster science and technology talents in the future.”
