더불어민주당 세종선거대책위원회는 16일 ‘공명선거본부’를 출범시키고, 제21대 대통령선거 선거운동이 본격화된 현시점에서 유례없는 허위 조작 정보와 불법 선거운동에 대해 강력한 대응과 선제적 예방 시스템을 가동한다고 밝혔다.

이번에 출범한 공명선거본부는 문형대 본부장(세종갑)과 윤성규 본부장(세종을)을 중심으로 20여 명의 공명선거감시단을 위촉했다. 

공명선거본부는 △선거법의 실천 △불법 폭력 배제△정책 승부 등 세 가지 실천 원칙을 중심으로 본격적인 활동에 돌입했다.

감시단에는 선거법에 정통한 법률 전문가들과 자원봉사자들이 함께 참여해, 온·오프라인 전방위적인 모니터링과 대응 체계를 구축하고 선거의 공정성을 확보할 계획이다.

강준현 상임총괄선대위원장은 “공명선거는 단지 절차적 공정성의 문제가 아니라, 민주주의의 본질이자 국민 화합과 정책경쟁의 기반”이라며, “선거는 시민이 주권자로서 권리를 행사하는 신성한 과정이며, 공명선거 실천은 정당의 책무이자 유권자에 대한 약속”이라고 강조했다.
