충남 서천군이 지난해 집중호우로 피해를 입은 재해 지역에 대한 복구사업의 추진 현황과 안전관리 실태를 점검하기 위해 본격적인 현장 점검에 나섰다.

군은 지난 15일 김기웅 군수 주재로 ‘제4차 정책현답’ 회의를 열고, 주요 재해복구 현장을 직접 방문해 진행 상황을 점검하고 미비점을 살폈다고 밝혔다.

이번 점검에는 김 군수를 비롯해 관련 부서장 및 실무자들이 함께했으며, 문산면 구동2리천, 판교면 배수지 유실사면, 비인면 산사태 복구지, 성산면 성산천 재해복구지 등 총 5개 현장이 포함됐다. 이들은 현장에서 복구 공정의 진척도는 물론, 향후 재해 재발 방지를 위한 구조적 보완 대책까지 다각적으로 확인했다.

김 군수는 현장에서 “복구사업은 단순한 원상복구에 그쳐서는 안 된다”며 “재해 예방은 물론이고, 농경지를 보호하고 주민들의 일상과 생계를 지키기 위한 보다 근본적인 지역 안전 인프라로 이어져야 한다”고 강조했다. 이어 “장기적인 관점에서 기후위기와 같은 새로운 위험 요소에 대응할 수 있는 기반을 마련해 나가겠다”고 덧붙였다.
