대전시가 2028년 개관을 목표로 추진 중인 대전사회복지회관 건립 사업이 본격적인 궤도에 올랐다. 

16일, 대전시에 다르면 창의성과 공공성을 두루 갖춘 기획디자인 공모를 통해 우수작 5점을 최종 선정했다고 밝혔다.

이번 공모는 사회복지 기관·단체들이 함께 활용할 수 있는 복지 거점 공간을 조성하기 위한 사전 단계로, 지역 정체성과 기능적 활용도를 모두 고려한 디자인을 발굴하는 데 초점을 뒀다. 

공모는 지난 3월 10일부터 4월 25일까지 진행됐으며, 총 14개 작품이 접수됐다.

심사에는 이진숙 대전시 총괄건축가를 비롯한 건축 및 디자인 전문가 7명이 참여해 디자인의 독창성 ,심미성 ,공공성 등 다양한 요소를 종합적으로 평가했다.

치열한 경쟁 끝에 선정된 5개 우수작은 주현제·이종진 건축사 팀 ,(주)크레파스 건축사사무소 ,(주)에스샵 건축사사무소 ,(주)민앤동 건축사사무소 ,독일 BAEK Architekten 등이다.

대전시는 오는 6월 중 시민발표회를 통해 이번에 선정된 디자인을 공개하고 시민 의견을 수렴할 예정이며, 이를 바탕으로 하반기에는 지명설계 공모를 실시해 최종 실시설계안을 확정할 계획이다.

대전시는 이번 공모를 계기로 복지시설에 대한 공공 디자인의 기준을 높이는 한편, 시민이 체감할 수 있는 열린 공간 조성에 중점을 두겠다는 방침이다. 

이후 절차에 따라 실시설계와 착공이 이어지며, 2028년 개관을 목표로 사업이 단계적으로 추진된다.

Daejeon City’s Daejeon Social Welfare Center construction project, which is aiming to open in 2028, is on track.

On the 16th, Daejeon City announced that it had selected 5 excellent works through a planning design contest that possesses both creativity and publicness.

This contest is a preliminary step for creating a welfare hub space that can be used by social welfare organizations and groups, and focused on discovering designs that consider both regional identity and functional usability.

The contest was held from March 10 to April 25, and a total of 14 works were received.

Seven architecture and design experts, including Daejeon City Chief Architect Jin-sook Lee, participated in the evaluation and comprehensively evaluated various factors such as the originality, aesthetics, and publicness of the design.

The five excellent works selected after fierce competition are the architectural team of Joo Hyun-Je and Lee Jong-Jin, Craypas Architects, S-Shop Architects, Min & Dong Architects, and BAEK Architekten from Germany.

Daejeon City plans to hold a public presentation in June to reveal the selected designs and collect opinions from citizens. Based on this, it plans to hold a design contest in the second half of the year to finalize the final implementation design.

Daejeon City plans to use this contest as an opportunity to raise the standards for public design for welfare facilities while focusing on creating open spaces that citizens can experience.

Afterwards, implementation design and construction will follow according to the procedures, and the project will be promoted in stages with the goal of opening in 2028.
