대전 대덕구가 신탄진역에서 출발하는 인천공항 직행버스를 본격 운행하며 지역 주민들의 교통 편의 향상에 한 걸음을 내디뎠다. 

대덕구는 5월 15일, 신탄진역 광장에서 인천공항버스 개통 기념식을 열고 주민들과 함께 첫 운행을 축하했다.

이 노선은 지난 2016년 중단된 이후 주민들의 지속적인 요청과 구의 적극적인 재추진으로 2024년 재개를 결정, 이번에 정식 운행에 돌입하게 됐다. 특히 대전 북부권인 신탄진에서 환승 없이 인천공항까지 곧바로 이동할 수 있어 시간과 비용을 줄일 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

개통식에는 최충규 대덕구청장을 비롯해 금남고속·중부고속 대표, 한양고속 관계자, 시·구의원, 지역 주민 등 100여 명이 참석해 직행버스의 첫 출발을 함께 기념했다.

신탄진에서 인천공항까지 운행되는 직행버스는 하루 4회 운영된다. 

운행 시간은 오전 3시 20분, 오전 10시, 오후 2시, 오후 4시 30분으로, 이용객은 신탄진역 맞은편 대전보훈병원셔틀버스 승강장에서 탑승하면 된다. 탑승은 모바일 사전 예매를 통해 발급된 QR코드를 단말기에 스캔하는 방식으로 진행된다.

대덕구는 주민들이 버스를 원활히 이용할 수 있도록 시간표와 예매 방법 등을 구 홈페이지와 현수막, 승강장 안내판 등을 통해 적극 안내할 계획이다.

최충규 대덕구청장은 “이번 신탄진 인천공항버스 운행은 지역 주민들의 오랜 염원을 이룬 성과”라며, “앞으로도 주민 눈높이에 맞는 교통 정책을 통해 살기 좋은 대덕구를 만들어가겠다”고 말했다.

이번 개통으로 인해 대전 북부권 주민들은 더 이상 도심까지 나가지 않고도 편리하게 인천공항으로 이동할 수 있어, 공항 이용 접근성 향상과 함께 교통복지 측면에서도 큰 효과가 기대된다.
