대전시의회 교육위원회 이금선 의원(국민의힘, 유성구 제4선거구)이 학교주관 교복 구매 제도의 실효성을 높이기 위한 현장 목소리 청취에 나섰다.

이금선 의원은 지난 13일 대전시의회 소통실에서 ‘학교주관 교복 구매 개선 간담회’를 열고, 학부모와 교사, 교육청 관계자, 학생복 업계 관계자들과 함께 제도의 문제점과 대안에 대해 논의했다.

이번 간담회에서는 교복 단가와 품질, 과도한 품목 구성 등 교복 구매 제도 전반에 대한 문제점이 집중적으로 제기됐다. 특히 학부모들은 제작 지연, 품목 강매 의혹, 중고 교복 활용 미비, 제한된 업체 선정 구조 등으로 불편을 겪고 있다고 토로했다. 

또, 학생들이 교복보다 생활복·체육복을 더 많이 입는 현실을 반영해 품목 선택의 유연성이 필요하다는 의견도 나왔다.

업계 관계자들은 교복 구매에 현금성 지원 방식을 도입할 경우 업체의 재고 확보와 가격 경쟁력 제고에 도움이 될 것이라고 제안했다. 

교육청 측은 TF팀을 통해 개선 방향을 논의 중이며, 학부모 설문조사 결과를 반영해 교복 품목 간소화, 단가 비율 조정, 디자인 개선 등 단계적 개편을 추진할 계획이라고 밝혔다.

이금선 의원은 간담회를 마무리하며 “교복은 단순한 의류가 아니라 학생들의 일상과 학부모의 경제적 부담 모두에 직결되는 중요한 요소”라며 “학생들이 편하게 입을 수 있고, 학부모의 부담을 덜 수 있는 방향으로 정책 개선이 이뤄질 수 있도록 시의회와 교육청이 함께 힘쓰겠다”고 강조했다.
