충남 아산시의회가 14일 제258회 임시회를 열고 의장단에 대한 불신임안을 표결에 부쳤으나, 의장과 부의장 모두 신임을 유지하게 됐다.

이날 오전 10시 열린 본회의에서는 의장 불신임안과 부의장 불신임안이 잇따라 상정됐다. 두 안건 모두 무기명 투표로 진행되었으며, 재적의원 17명 중 16명이 참여했다.

먼저 표결에 부쳐진 의장 홍성표 불신임안은 찬성 6표, 반대 9표, 기권 1표로 부결됐다. 이어 진행된 부의장 불신임안도 찬성 8표, 반대 7표, 기권 1표로 과반에 미치지 못해 부결 처리됐다.

이번 불신임안 표결은 의회 내 갈등 기류를 반영한 것으로 해석된다. 그러나 양측 모두 과반 지지를 확보하지 못하면서 의장단 체제에는 변동이 없게 됐다.

아산시의회는 이번 임시회를 통해 각종 안건 심사와 함께 지역 현안에 대한 논의를 이어갈 예정이다.
