대전시가 시민의 생활체육과 돌봄 복지를 한데 아우른 복합시설 ‘한밭문화체육센터’를 정식 개관하며 일류 체육도시로의 도약에 속도를 내고 있다.

대전시는 9일, 중구 문화동에 위치한 한밭문화체육센터에서 개관식을 열고 본격적인 운영에 돌입했다고 밝혔다. 

이날 행사에는 이장우 대전시장, 황경아 대전시의회 부의장, 김제선 중구청장 등 주요 인사와 시민 150여 명이 참석해 센터의 출발을 함께 축하했다.

특히, 개관을 기념해 대전을 대표하는 스포츠 스타들이 영상으로 응원의 메시지를 전했다. 펜싱 세계 랭킹 1위 오상욱, 프로야구 한화 이글스의 간판 타자 노시환, K리그 대전하나시티즌의 윤도영 선수의 축하 영상이 상영되며 스포츠 도시 대전의 위상을 한층 더했다.

한밭문화체육센터는 총 229억 원의 예산이 투입된 지하 1층~지상 3층, 연면적 3172㎡ 규모의 복합 시설이다. 25m 5레인 규모의 수영장, 다목적 체육관, 생활문화센터(학습공간, 마루공간 등), 공동육아나눔터 등이 조성되어 체육활동은 물론 교육, 돌봄 기능까지 통합적으로 제공할 수 있는 것이 가장 큰 특징이다.
