국립공주대학교 간호학과 3학년 학생들이 나이팅게일의 숭고한 정신을 가슴에 새기며 본격적인 간호사의 길에 들어섰다.

국립공주대학교는 5월 9일, 백제교육문화관 컨벤션홀에서 제63회 나이팅게일 선서식을 개최했다고 밝혔다. 이번 행사에는 간호학과 3학년 학생 67명이 참여해, 임상실습을 앞두고 간호전문직으로서의 책임과 윤리를 되새겼다.

선서식은 조근자 간호보건대학 학장을 비롯해 간호학과 교수진, 간호학과 동창회 박연숙 회장, 의료계 인사, 학부모 등 300여 명이 참석한 가운데 엄숙하고도 뜻깊게 진행됐다. Nursing Pin 수여와 나이팅게일 선서, 격려사와 축사 등이 이어지며 학생들의 첫 발걸음을 축하했다.

선서를 마친 학생들은 오는 5월 19일부터 6주간 대전, 세종, 충남 지역의 병원에서 임상실습을 진행할 예정이다. 이번 실습은 이론으로 익힌 지식을 실제 현장에서 적용해보는 중요한 전환점이 될 것으로 기대된다.

이날 행사에서는 따뜻한 나눔도 이어졌다. 간호학과 석·박사 과정의 송석민 학생 외 29명이 총 1433만 원의 발전기금을 기탁했으며, 대한간호협회 충남간호사회는 박상혁 학생에게 장학금을 전달해 학생들의 학업을 격려했다.

조근자 학장은 “오늘 선서식이 학생들에게 간호사로서의 자긍심과 사명감을 심어주는 계기가 되길 바란다”며 “실습과정을 통해 진정한 간호전문인으로 성장하길 기대한다”고 밝혔다.

국립공주대 간호학과는 1963년 설립 이후 약 3400명의 졸업생을 배출했으며, 현재 학사뿐 아니라 석사, 박사 과정을 운영하며 간호학 교육과 연구에 힘쓰고 있다. 

졸업생들은 국내외 주요 병원, 산업체, 교육기관 등 다양한 현장에서 간호사, 관리자, 전문간호사 등으로 활약하며 간호계 발전에 기여하고 있다.

National Kongju University Department of Nursing third-year students have taken the path of becoming full-fledged nurses, engraving Nightingale’s noble spirit in their hearts.

National Kongju University announced that it held the 63rd Nightingale Oath Ceremony at the Baekje Education and Culture Center Convention Hall on May 9. 67 third-year nursing students participated in the event, reflecting on their responsibilities and ethics as nursing professionals before their clinical practice.

The oath ceremony was solemn and meaningful, with approximately 300 people in attendance, including Dean Cho Geun-ja of the College of Nursing and Health, professors of the Department of Nursing, President Park Yeon-sook of the Department of Nursing Alumni Association, medical professionals, and parents. The students’ first steps were celebrated with the presentation of nursing pins, the Nightingale Oath, and words of encouragement and congratulations.

Students who have completed the oath will conduct clinical training at hospitals in Daejeon, Sejong, and Chungnam for six weeks starting May 19. This training is expected to be an important turning point for applying the knowledge learned in theory to actual fields.

Warm sharing also continued at the event. 29 students including Song Seok-min, a master's and doctoral student in the Department of Nursing, donated a total of 14.33 million won in development funds, and the Chungnam Nursing Association of the Korean Nurses Association presented a scholarship to Park Sang-hyeok to encourage the students' studies.

Dean Cho Geun-ja said, "I hope that today's oath-taking ceremony will be an opportunity to instill pride and a sense of mission as nurses in the students," and "I hope that they will grow into true nursing professionals through the training process."

Since its establishment in 1963, the Department of Nursing at Kongju National University has produced approximately 3,400 graduates, and currently operates not only bachelor's but also master's and doctoral programs, and is committed to nursing education and research.

Graduates are contributing to the development of the nursing field by working as nurses, managers, and specialist nurses in various fields such as major hospitals, industrial companies, and educational institutions at home and abroad.
