대전글꽃중학교 1학년 학생들이 대전시교육청을 찾아 교육 분야 직업 세계를 직접 체험하며 진로에 대한 시야를 넓혔다.

대전시교육청 진로진학지원센터는 5월 9일, 대전글꽃중 1학년 학생 27명을 대상으로 ‘2025년 교육청 진로·직업 체험의 날’ 1차 프로그램을 운영했다고 밝혔다. 

이 프로그램은 교육청의 다양한 직종을 현장에서 체험해보며, 학생들이 적성과 흥미를 바탕으로 진로를 탐색할 수 있도록 돕기 위해 마련됐다.

체험 활동은 단순한 견학을 넘어 실질적인 참여 중심으로 구성됐다. 학생들은 ‘퀴즈로 알아보는 대전시교육청’, ‘교육청 투어’, ‘부서별 업무 체험’, ‘내가 만드는 대전교육비전’ 등 총 4개의 테마 활동을 통해 교육청 조직과 역할에 대한 이해를 높였다.

특히 큰 호응을 얻은 ‘부서별 업무 체험’에서는 실제로 교육청 내 7개 부서의 장학사와 주무관들이 멘토로 나서, 3~4인으로 구성된 학생 그룹과 함께 각 부서의 주요 업무를 소개하고 간단한 실습도 함께했다. 이날 참여한 부서는 공보관, 기획예산과, 혁신정책과, 중등교육과, 체육예술건강과, 총무과, 행정과 등이다.

학생들은 자신이 처음 들어보는 부서의 이름부터 흥미를 느꼈고, 현장에서 직접 업무 일지를 작성하거나 내부 회의 공간을 체험하며 교육청의 다양한 기능을 몸소 느낄 수 있었다. “교육청이 학교만 지원하는 곳이 아니라 다양한 정책과 행정을 운영하는 전문 기관이라는 걸 알게 됐다”는 학생들의 반응도 이어졌다.

대전시교육청은 오는 7월 11일, 청란여자중학교 학생들을 대상으로 한 2차 체험도 예정하고 있다. 이번 프로그램은 단순한 진로 정보 제공을 넘어, 공공기관 현장에서 실질적인 체험을 제공함으로써 교육 관련 직업군에 대한 이해도를 높이는 데 중점을 두고 있다.

교육청 관계자는 “학생들이 교육행정과 교육전문직이라는 낯선 분야를 직접 체험함으로써 진로 선택의 폭을 넓히는 계기가 되길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 다양한 기관과 협력해 실질적인 진로교육을 강화해 나갈 것”이라고 밝혔다.

First-year students from Daejeon Geulkkot Middle School visited the Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education to directly experience the world of education jobs and broaden their perspectives on career paths.

The Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education Career and Advancement Support Center announced that it operated the first program of the ‘2025 Office of Education Career and Job Experience Day’ for 27 first-year students from Daejeon Geulkkot Middle School on May 9.

This program was designed to help students explore career paths based on their aptitude and interests by experiencing various jobs at the Office of Education on site.

The experience activities were structured around practical participation rather than simple field trips. Students increased their understanding of the organization and role of the Office of Education through a total of four themed activities: ‘Learning about the Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education through a Quiz,’ ‘Office of Education Tour,’ ‘Experience the Work of Each Department,’ and ‘My Vision for Daejeon Education.’

In the ‘Departmental Work Experience’ program, which received a particularly great response, the superintendents and chief administrators from seven departments within the Office of Education actually served as mentors, introducing the main tasks of each department with groups of three to four students and conducting simple practical training. The departments that participated that day were the Public Relations Office, Planning and Budget Department, Innovation Policy Department, Secondary Education Department, Physical Education, Arts and Health Department, General Affairs Department, and Administration Department.
