충남 서천군의 청소년들이 진로탐색을 위한 뜻깊은 시간을 가졌다. 서천군과 서천교육지원청, 서천진로체험지원센터는 9일 서천군 청소년수련관 일원에서 ‘2025 서천군 청소년 진로박람회 나비투어’를 공동 개최했다.

올해로 11회째를 맞이한 이번 박람회는 지역 청소년들에게 실질적인 진로 정보를 제공하고 직업 세계에 대한 이해를 높이기 위해 마련됐다. 행사장에는 관내 12개 초·중학교에서 약 640명의 학생이 참가해 다양한 직업 체험과 진학 상담을 경험했다.

행사를 주관한 서천진로체험지원센터는 사전에 진로 전담교사들과 협력해 학생들의 관심 분야를 파악하기 위한 설문조사를 진행했다. 이를 바탕으로 ▲직업 체험 42개 부스 ▲대학 멘토링 5개 부스 ▲고등학교 진학 상담 7개 부스를 구성해 학생 맞춤형 프로그램을 기획했다.

체험 부스에서는 신산업 분야를 포함한 미래 유망 직종에 대한 실습 기회가 제공됐다. 특히 지역 내 실제 근로자들이 직접 참여해 자신의 직무와 경험을 소개하며 서천의 자원을 기반으로 한 다양한 진로 가능성을 제시했다. 이는 청소년들이 지역사회와 직업 세계를 자연스럽게 연결지을 수 있도록 돕는 계기가 됐다.

한편, 행사에 참여한 한 중학생은 “서천에 이렇게 다양한 직업이 있는 줄 처음 알았다”며 “특히 평소 접하기 어려운 첨단 산업 직종을 가까이서 체험할 수 있어 유익한 시간이었다”고 소감을 전했다.

서천군 관계자는 “청소년들이 자신의 미래를 주도적으로 설계할 수 있도록 다양한 기회를 지속적으로 마련하겠다”며 “지역 인재가 서천에 뿌리내릴 수 있도록 교육과 진로를 연계한 정책을 이어갈 것”이라고 밝혔다.
