대전시가 재난 상황에 보다 신속하고 효과적으로 대응하기 위해, 노후된 민방위 경보사이렌을 스마트형 장비로 교체하는 작업을 꾸준히 이어가고 있는 가운데, 중구 정동에 위치한 공공기관 옥상에 설치된 노후 사이렌을 오는 6월까지 최신 장비로 교체할 계획이라고 9일 밝혔다.

민방위 경보사이렌은 민방위 사태나 자연재해 등 위급 상황 발생 시 시민들에게 긴급 상황을 신속히 전달하는 필수 장비로, 산불 예방 방송이나 여름철 물놀이 안전 안내 등 평상시에도 다용도로 활용된다.
