세종시선거여론조사심의위원회(이하‘세종시여심위’라.)는 6.3대통령선거와 관련해  SNS 등에서 정당의 후보자추천을 위한 당내경선 여론조사 시 당원여부 등에 대해 허위응답 하도록 권유․유도한 선거구민 2명을 각각 고발했다고 밝혔다. 

8일 여심위에 따르면 이들은 각각 특정 경선후보자의 지지자 등으로 구성된 오픈채팅방과 팬클럽카페에서 경선여론조사 전화를 받으면 당원이 아니라고 응답하고 여론조사에 참여할 것을 권유한 혐의가 있다.

'공직선거법 제108조에는  당내경선을 위한 여론조사의 결과에 영향을 미치게 하기 위해 다수의 선거구민을 대상으로 성별ㆍ연령 등을 거짓으로 응답하도록 지시ㆍ권유ㆍ유도하는 행위’를 금지하고 있다.

이를 위반한 경우  3년 이하의 징역 또는 600만원 이하의 벌금에 처하도록 돼 있다.

세종시여심위 관계자는“선거에 관한 여론조사 방법 및 결과 공표․보도 등 여론조사와 관련한 위반행위가 발생하지 않도록 각별히 유의해 주길 바란다”고 당부했다.
