대전시가 오는 8월 개최되는 ‘2025 대전 0시 축제’를 앞두고 도심 교통 대책 수립에 본격 착수했다. 

이를 위해 대전시는 2일 ‘교통 통제 대행 용역 착수보고회’를 열고, 축제 기간 동안의 원활한 행사 운영과 시민 안전 확보를 위한 세부 계획을 논의했다.

이번 축제는 8월 8일부터 16일까지 9일간 열리며, 행사장 중심 구간인 중앙로(대전역~옛 충남도청사 약 1km) 일대가 차 없는 거리로 운영된다. 

이에 따라 시는 축제 전후인 8월 6일부터 17일까지 총 12일 동안 중앙로는 물론 인근 대종로(NC백화점~으능정이 거리 약 400m), 중앙로121번길, 태전로 일부 구간까지 교통을 순차적으로 통제할 계획이다.

교통 통제의 핵심은 보행자 안전과 차량 흐름의 균형이다. 시는 이를 위해 하루 평균 409명의 인력을 현장에 배치해 교통 흐름을 관리하고, 무단횡단 방지 펜스 등 안전시설을 대폭 확충할 예정이다. 

또한, 차량 운전자 및 대중교통 이용객들의 혼란을 최소화하기 위해 하상도로 운영을 탄력적으로 조정하고, 버스 우회 노선 및 임시 정류장 안내도 사전에 강화하기로 했다.

시 관계자는 “올해 0시 축제는 도심 한복판에서 열리는 만큼, 교통과 보행자 안전이 행사의 성공을 좌우할 중요한 요소”라며 “선제적 통제 계획과 체계적인 현장 운영을 통해 시민 불편은 줄이고 축제의 즐거움은 더하겠다”고 밝혔다.
