대전 시민들의 지식과 상상을 자극할 새로운 문화 명소가 탄생한다. 대전시는 오는 5월 1일, 창의 체험 특화형 복합문화공간인 동대전도서관의 문을 연다고 25일 밝혔다.

‘재미있는 도서관’, ‘머물고 싶은 도서관’을 슬로건으로 내세운 동대전도서관은 단순한 책 열람 공간을 넘어 체험과 문화가 융합된 지식 플랫폼으로 자리매김할 전망이다. 

지하 1층, 지상 3층 규모(연면적 7,354㎡)의 도서관에는 어린이공작실, 청소년창작실, 실감체험실 등 창의적 사고를 자극하는 체험 공간 4곳이 마련돼, 연령대별 맞춤형 프로그램 운영이 가능하다.

개관 당일에는 전 세대가 도서관을 자유롭게 체험할 수 있는 ‘도서관 맛봄의 날’ 행사가 진행된다. 공식 개관식은 수필가 이상협 작가의 사회로 진행되며, 5월의 감성을 담은 낭독 시간도 함께 마련돼 시민들에게 따뜻한 문학적 영감을 전할 예정이다.

행사 당일에는 다양한 체험형 프로그램도 풍성하게 준비되어 있다. 

소설가 김영하 작가와의 특별 만남(오후 3시 30분) ,레고 만들기, 미니화분 심기 등 어린이 창작활동 ,모루 인형 및 미니어처 책장 제작을 포함한 청소년 체험 프로그램 ,드럼 원데이 클래스 등 세대를 아우르는 프로그램이 선착순 현장 접수 방식으로 진행된다.

동대전도서관은 단순한 독서공간을 넘어 시민 누구나 오랜 시간 머물며 창작하고 소통할 수 있는 ‘체류형 도서관’으로 조성됐다.

A new cultural attraction that will stimulate the knowledge and imagination of Daejeon citizens is being born. Daejeon City announced on the 25th that it will open the doors of the Dongdaejeon Library, a complex cultural space specializing in creative experiences, on May 1.

With the slogans ‘A Fun Library’ and ‘A Library You Want to Stay In,’ Dongdaejeon Library is expected to establish itself as a knowledge platform that combines experience and culture beyond a simple book reading space.

The library, which has 1 basement floor and 3 floors above ground (total floor area of ​​7,354㎡), has 4 experience spaces that stimulate creative thinking, including a children’s workshop, a youth creation room, and a realistic experience room, allowing for customized programs for each age group.

On the opening day, a ‘Library Taste Day’ event will be held where all generations can freely experience the library.
