충남 청양군(군수 김돈곤)이 조선시대 교육기관인 향교를 현대적 문화 콘텐츠 공간으로 탈바꿈시키는 '향교·서원 국가유산활용사업'을 25일부터 본격적으로 추진한다고 밝혔다.

이 사업은 국가유산청이 주관한 공모에 선정되어 마련된 것으로, 군의 대표적인 전통 유산인 청양향교와 정산향교를 중심으로 한 체험형 프로그램들이 오는 11월까지 총 14회에 걸쳐 진행될 예정이며, 지역 문화단체인 ‘온닮’이 주관을 맡아 진행한다.

이번 프로젝트의 핵심은 단순한 문화재 관람을 넘어서, 향교 본래의 교육 기능과 전통 문화를 현대적으로 재해석하여 주민과 방문객 모두가 체험하고 공감할 수 있는 공간으로 만드는 데 있다.
