충남 금산군이 지역 축산업의 안정성과 공공 보건을 확보하기 위해 전방위적으로 가축전염병 방역 대응에 나섰다고 25일 밝혔다. 

군은 올해 총 26억 2800만 원의 예산을 들여 조류인플루엔자(AI), 구제역, 아프리카돼지열병(ASF), 소 럼피스킨병 등 재난형 가축전염병의 유입과 확산을 철저히 막겠다는 방침이다.

이번 방역 강화는 백신 접종 확대, 소독·살충제 보급, 농가 방역시설 지원, 통제초소 운영 등 다양한 지원책으로 구성됐다. 주요 내용으로는 ▲예방접종 백신 공급 및 접종 시술비·가축 스트레스 완화제 제공 ▲축산농가에 필요한 소독제, 구충·구서제 지원 ▲거점소독시설을 활용한 유입 차단 ▲특정 시기 집중 방역 실시 등이 포함된다.

군은 특히 구제역과 럼피스킨병에 대해 상·하반기 두 차례 일제 접종을 실시하며, 고령 또는 소규모 농가, 염소 사육 농가 등 방역 취약 농가에는 예방접종 시술을 보다 적극적으로 지원할 계획이다.

또한 연중 살균제와 소독약 공급을 지속하여 축산농가의 자율적인 방역체계를 뒷받침하고, 질병의 사전 예방을 위한 상시 방역망을 강화한다.

이와 더불어, 가축 전염병의 확산 위험이 높아지는 10월부터 이듬해 3월까지는 ‘특별 방역기간’으로 지정해 집중 대응할 예정이다. 해당 기간에는 24시간 대응이 가능한 비상체계를 가동하고, 질병별로 차별화된 맞춤형 방역 전략을 추진해 효과적인 예방에 나선다.

군 관계자는 “금산군은 지금까지 청정 축산 환경을 유지해왔으며, 앞으로도 전염병 유입을 철저히 차단해 축산물의 안전성과 농가의 생계를 지키기 위해 총력을 다할 것”이라고 밝혔다.
