세종시의회가 18일, 지난달 영남지역에서 발생한 산불로 피해를 입은 주민들을 돕기 위해 성금을 세종사회복지공동모금회에 전달했다.

이번 성금은 갑작스러운 재난으로 어려움을 겪고 있는 이재민들의 신속한 일상 회복을 지원하기 위해 시의원과 직원들이 힘을 모아 마련한 것이다. 성금 전달식에는 임채성 의장과 세종사회복지공동모금회 이희정 사무처장 및 관계자들이 참석하여 그 의미를 더했다.

전달된 성금은 세종사회복지공동모금회를 통해 산불 피해 지역 주민들의 경제적 및 정신적 회복을 위한 다양한 사업에 사용될 예정이다. 

임 의장은 "작은 정성이지만 피해 지역 주민들에게 실질적인 도움이 되기를 바란다"며, "세종시의회는 앞으로도 각종 재난 및 위기 상황 속에서 사회적 책임을 다하고 지역사회 안전망 강화를 위해 최선을 다하겠다"고 강조했다.

Sejong City Council Delivers Funds for Recovery from Wildfires in Yeongnam
