전국교직원노동조합 충남지부가 충남도의회 국민의힘 소속 도의원들의 '교육 검열 시도'에 대해 강하게 반발하며, 교육의 정치적 중립성을 훼손하지 말라는 취지의 공식 성명서를 18일 발표했다.

성명에 따르면, 지난 4월 15일 열린 충남도의회 제358차 임시회 교육위원회 회의에서 국민의힘 방한일 도의원이 충남교육청이 일선 학교에 발송한 '대통령 탄핵 심판 방송 시청 안내' 공문에 문제를 제기하며 자료 제출을 요구한 것에 대해, 전교조 충남지부는 "명백한 정치 개입이자 교육 자율성 침해"라고 주장했다.

전교조는 특히 “해당 자료 제출 요구는 지방자치법 절차를 어긴 무리한 요구”라며, 방 도의원의 공문에는 정작 사용 목적조차 명시되지 않았고, 본인 스스로 전교조 충남지부에 ‘목적이 없다’고 밝혔다는 점을 지적했다.
