이재명 더불어민주당 대선 경선후보가 충청권을 국가 균형발전의 핵심 축으로 육성하겠다는 청사진을 내놓았다. 

 

이 후보는 17일 자신의 SNS를 통해 ‘충청 지역공약’을 발표하며, “충청이 살아야 대한민국이 산다”며 “충청을 행정‧과학 수도로 만들겠다”고 밝혔다.

 

이 후보는 충청을 ‘국토의 중심이자 대한민국의 심장’이라고 강조하며, “지방 소외와 기회 편중 문제를 해결하고, 충청권에 맞는 산업 배치와 과감한 투자로 새로운 미래를 열겠다”고 밝혔다.

이 후보는 우선 세종의 행정수도 완성을 위해 국회 세종의사당과 대통령 세종 집무실의 임기 내 건립 ,국회 본원과 대통령 집무실의 세종 이전 추진 ,중단된 공공기관 2차 이전의 조속한 재개를 약속했다.

 

이와 함께 대전은 세계적인 과학기술 중심지로 성장시키겠다는 구상을 밝혔다. 대덕연구특구를 글로벌 과학기술 혁신클러스터로 전환하고, R&D 예산을 대폭 확충하며 연구자 정주 여건도 개선하겠다는 계획이다.

 

첨단산업벨트로 충청권 경제 재편...

 

충청권 4개 시도를 잇는 첨단산업벨트 구축도 핵심 과제 중 하나다.

 

이 후보는 대전(AI·우주산업), 세종(스마트 행정), 충북(바이오·반도체·이차전지), 충남(디스플레이)을 연계한 산업벨트를 조성해 시너지 효과를 극대화하겠다고 밝혔다.

 

충북에는 ‘K-바이오스퀘어’ 조성을 통해 글로벌 바이오 산업 클러스터로 성장시키고, 이차전지·반도체 분야는 R&D와 인재 양성 인프라를 집중 지원한다. 충남은 차세대 디스플레이 산업의 메카로 키우고, 핵심 소재·부품 국산화를 적극 지원한다는 전략이다.

 

보령, 태안, 당진 등 석탄화력발전소 폐지 지역에는 재생에너지 전환을 위한 특별법 제정을 추진하며, 논산·계룡 등지에는 국방 관련 기관 유치를 통해 스마트 국방산업 기반도 확대할 계획이다.
