대전 서구의회에서 결산심사위원 위촉을 두고 여야 의원간 대립의 골이 깊어지고 있어 논란이 일고 있다. 

 

국민의힘 서구의원 일동은 7일, 의회 청사 앞에서 성명서를 발표하고, 더불어민주당이 국민의힘 의원들을 배제하고, 더불어민주당과 무소속 의원만을 포함한 결산심사위원 선임을 강행한 것에 대해 강력한 유감을 표명하며, 의회의 공정성과 형평성을 회복할 것을 촉구하고 있다.

 

국민의힘 의원들은  지난 3월21일과  28일 제288회 임시회 제2차 본회의에서 결산심사위원 2명을 더불어민주당 의원으로만 선임하는 결정을 하고, 선임 절차에 돌입했으나 무소속 최규 의원의 반대로 선임이 무산 됐었다고 강조했다. 

 

국민의힘 의원들은 3월 21일 동일한 안건이 부결된 지 불과 8일 만에 이뤄진 재상정으로, 절차적 민주주의와 의회 운영의 기본을 무시한 처사라는 비판을 받고 있다고 지적했다.

 

문제는 4월7일 대전 서구의회는 임시회를 열고 결산검사위원으로 더불어민주당 박용준 의원과 무소속 최규 의원을 의회 몫으로 선출했다.

 

현재 서구의회는 더불어민주당 10명, 국민의힘 9명으로 구성되어 있으며, 사실상 균형 있는 구조임에도 불구하고 더불어민주당은 결산심사의 감시 기능을 무력화시키는 일방적 결정을 반복하고 있다는 지적이 이어지고 있다는게 국민의힘 의원들의 주장이다.
