충남 논산시가 시민의 목소리를 정책으로 반영하는 소통 행정을 본격화한다. 

이를 위해 논산시는 오는 5월 16일까지 '2026년도 예산편성을 위한 주민참여예산 제안사업'을 공모한다고 밝혔다.  

이번 공모는 시민들의 생활 속 아이디어를 시정에 반영해 보다 현실성 있는 예산 편성을 추진하기 위한 것으로, 논산 시민이라면 누구나 참여할 수 있다. 

논산시는 공모를 통해 주민들이 직접 시정 운영에 참여하고, 예산이 시민들의 요구와 기대를 충실히 반영하는 계기가 되길 기대하고 있다.

논산시는 이미 지난해 공모를 통해 컬러주행 유도선 설치 ,흡연부스 설치 ,등산로 조성 등 총 226건, 약 24억 원 규모의 주민 제안 사업을 선정한 바 있다. 

논산시는 이들 사업이 현장에서 제대로 추진될 수 있도록 현장 점검과 모니터링을 지속적으로 실시하고 있으며, 예산 집행의 투명성과 효율성을 높이는 데 주력하고 있다.

또한, 시민들이 보다 적극적으로 예산 과정에 참여할 수 있도록 지난 2월부터 3월까지 '주민참여예산학교'를 운영하며 15개 읍면동을 순회했다. 

이 과정을 통해 주민들은 예산 편성 절차를 이해하고, 공모 참여 방법과 사후 관리 방법까지 학습하며 실질적인 참여 역량을 키웠다.

논산시 관계자는 "시민 여러분의 작은 아이디어가 논산을 더 나은 도시로 만드는 밑거름이 된다"며 "많은 시민들이 참여해 일상에서 느끼는 불편과 개선점을 제안해 주시길 바란다"고 말했다.

시민이 주도하는 정책 설계가 확산되면서 논산시는 이번 공모를 통해 주민과 시정이 더욱 가까워지는 계기를 마련하고, 생활밀착형 행정을 실현해 나갈 방침이다.
