충남 보령시는 24일 시청 중회의실에서 장동혁 국회의원을 초청해 정책간담회를 열고, 지역 현안과 2026년도 정부예산 확보 방안을 논의했다고 밝혔다.

이날 간담회에는 김동일 보령시장, 최은순 시의장, 편삼범·최광희 도의원을 비롯한 주요 관계자 40여 명이 참석해 보령시의 미래 발전 전략과 정부예산 확보 방안을 집중 점검했다.

특히 ▲탄소중립 에너지 그린도시 조성 ▲글로벌 해양레저 관광도시 건설 ▲보령 골드시티 조성 ▲사통팔달 교통망 구축 등 지역의 핵심 사업들이 주요 의제로 다뤄졌다.

보령시는 내년도 정부예산 목표를 5,500억 원으로 설정하고, ▲해양레저관광거점 조성 ▲LNG 냉열특화 산업단지 조성 ▲보령 경찰수련원 신축 ▲폐광지역 관광산업 활성화 등의 사업을 정부에 적극 건의했다.

김동일 시장은 "지난 4년간 장동혁 국의원과의 협력을 통해 5,000억 원 이상의 정부예산을 확보하는 성과를 거뒀다"며 "올해는 경제 불확실성과 건전재정 기조 등 어려운 여건 속에서도 보령의 지속 가능한 성장을 위해 적극적인 지원을 요청드린다"고 말했다.
