충남도립대학교(총장 정명규)와 청양군(군수 김돈곤)이 지역 맞춤형 교육 강화와 지역 경제 활성화를 위해 협력에 나섰다.

양 기관은 지난 19일 청양군청에서 '충청남도 지역혁신중심 대학지원체계(RISE) 사업' 추진을 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결하고, 지역과 대학이 함께하는 지속 가능한 발전 모델을 구축하기로 했다.

이번 협약은 지방 소멸 위기와 지역 인재 유출 문제를 해결하기 위한 노력의 일환으로, 대학과 지자체가 협력해 지역 산업과 연계된 맞춤형 교육을 제공하고 실무형 인재를 양성하는 데 초점을 맞추고 있다.

충남도립대학교는 지역사회가 인구 감소와 산업 구조 변화, 청년층의 수도권 유출로 인해 경제 기반이 약화되고 일자리 부족 현상이 심화되고 있다고 진단했다. 이에 따라 대학과 산업이 긴밀히 협력하는 새로운 발전 전략이 필요하다는 목소리가 높아지고 있다.

RISE 사업은 단순한 교육 개혁을 넘어, 대학이 지역 문제 해결의 중심축이 되고 산업 및 정책과 유기적으로 연계해 지역 경제 활성화에 기여하는 것을 목표로 한다. 이번 협약을 통해 충남도립대와 청양군은 지역 산업과 연계한 맞춤형 교육 프로그램을 개발하고, 청년들이 지역에 정착할 수 있도록 다양한 지원책을 마련할 계획이다.
