충남 청양군이 밤나무 해충 피해를 줄이고 농가의 방제 부담을 덜기 위해 ‘밤나무 해충 드론 방제비 지원사업’을 본격 추진한다.

최근 기후변화로 인해 해충 피해가 늘어나면서 효과적인 방제 방식에 대한 필요성이 커지고 있다. 이에 따라 드론을 활용한 방제 방식이 주목받고 있다. 

드론 방제는 기존 지상 방제보다 신속하고 광범위한 방제가 가능해 노동력 절감과 농약 사용의 최적화 측면에서 높은 효율성을 기대할 수 있다.

이번 지원사업의 대상은 청양군에 임업경영체로 등록된 밤 생산 농가 및 친환경 인증 농가다. 등록된 면적에 한해 제한 없이 지원받을 수 있으며, 지원 단가는 1헥타르(ha)당 17만 원으로 보조금 70%, 자부담 30%의 비율로 운영된다.

드론 방제를 신청하는 일반 밤 농가는 군에서 권장하는 약제를 사용해야 하며, 친환경 인증 농가는 국립농산물품질관리원에 공시된 유기농업자재를 활용해야 한다. 다만, 친환경 농산물 재배지 및 양봉농가로부터 30m 이내 지역은 방제 대상에서 제외된다.

청양군은 이번 사업을 위해 총 5억 9,800만 원의 예산을 투입하며, 신청 접수는 3월 17일부터 28일까지 진행된다. 신청을 원하는 농가는 각 읍·면 산업팀을 직접 방문하거나 우편을 통해 접수하면 된다.

군 관계자는 “드론 방제는 노동력과 비용을 줄이면서도 넓은 지역을 효과적으로 방제할 수 있는 혁신적인 방법”이라며 “이번 지원사업을 통해 밤 농가의 해충 피해를 최소화하고, 생산의 안정성을 높이는 데 기여할 것”이라고 밝혔다.
