대전둔산경찰서(서장 강부희)가 3월 13일 오전 7시 30분부터 8시 30분까지 대전 서구 둔산동 삼천초등학교에서 어린이 보행자 교통사고 예방을 위한 합동 캠페인을 실시했다.

이번 캠페인은 2025년 신학기를 맞아 어린이 교통안전을 최우선으로 확보하기 위해 기획되었으며, 경찰 협력단체인 둔산녹색어머니연합회, 모범운전자 둔산지회, 학교 관계자 등 약 30명이 참여했다. 

특히, 추운 날씨에도 불구하고 학생들이 직접 캠페인에 참여하여 어른들에게 어린이 교통안전을 지켜달라고 피켓을 들고 호소하는 모습이 인상적이었다.

캠페인에서는 어린이들에게 안전보행 3원칙(서다-보다-걷다)이 적힌 다양한 교통안전용품을 전달하여, 어린이들의 관심을 유도하고 흥미를 높였다. 또한, 학교 관계자 및 학부모와 함께 어린이 보행 시야를 방해하는 주변 시설도 점검했다.

대전둔산경찰서 관계자는 “어린이가 안전하게 학교에 다닐 수 있도록 어린이 보호구역을 면밀히 살피고, 학부모와 주민들의 의견을 지속적으로 수렴하여 어린이 특별 교통안전대책을 수립하고 시행하는 데 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다. 

이번 캠페인은 어린이 교통사고 예방을 위한 지역사회의 노력을 상징하는 중요한 행사로, 앞으로도 지속적인 관심과 참여가 필요해 보인다.
