세종시가 한글문화도시와 정원도시 기반 조성을 위한 조직개편을 단행한다고 13일 발표했다. 

이번 개편은 시정의 주요 현안 대응 능력을 높이고 재난 대응 협력체계를 강화하는 데 중점을 두고 있다.

세종시는 한글의 가치를 재조명하고 ‘세계를 잇는 한글문화도시’를 실현하기 위해 ‘한글문화도시과’를 신설한다. 

이 부서는 한글문화도시 조성을 총괄하며, 한글 관련 정책과 진흥 업무를 담당하게 된다. 지난해 문화체육관광부로부터 전국 유일의 한글특화 문화도시로 지정된 세종시는 이번 신설을 통해 체계적이고 종합적인 한글문화 사업을 추진할 계획이다.

또한, 도시 녹지 정책의 전문성을 높이기 위해 기존의 정원도시조성추진단을 ‘정원도시과’로 개편하고, 산림녹지과는 ‘산림자원과’로 명칭을 변경한다. 정원도시과는 정원문화의 확산, 관광 자원화 및 정원 산업 촉진을 통해 ‘정원 속의 도시 세종’을 실현할 예정이다.

시정 현안에 대한 언론 대응 및 홍보 정책의 강화를 위해 전문 임기제 4급 상당의 ‘홍보기획보좌관’도 신설된다. 이를 통해 세종시는 보다 효과적인 홍보 전략을 수립할 수 있을 것으로 기대하고 있다.

재난안전 분야에서도 소방과 경찰 간의 긴밀한 협력체계를 구축하여 대응 역량을 강화할 예정이다. 

소방본부의 119종합상황실에 경찰 인력을 배치하여 재난 발생 시 신속하고 정확한 정보 공유가 가능하도록 할 계획이다. 이로 인해 소방과 경찰이 초반부터 협업하여 시민의 안전을 더욱 강화할 것으로 전망된다.

이번 조직개편은 세종시가 한글문화와 정원도시의 기반을 확립하고, 시민 안전을 최우선으로 하는 시정 운영에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.
