충청남도교육청이 이주배경학생의 교육 지원과 현장의 어려움 해소를 위해 한국어학급 운영 도움 자료, 통합학급 운영 도움 자료, 이주배경학생 보호자 안내자료 등 3종의 맞춤형 도움 자료를 개발하여 12일 보급했다고 밝혔다.

최근 충청남도 내 이주배경학생 비율이 지속적으로 상승하고 있으며, 중도입국 학생과 외국인 학생의 수가 빠르게 증가하고 있다. 

이에 따라 충남교육청은 이주배경학생과 비이주배경학생이 안정적으로 학교생활을 할 수 있도록 교육과정을 연계한 맞춤형 지원을 강화하기 위해 이번 자료를 마련하였다.

한국어학급 운영 도움 자료는 다문화 교육 정책과 교육부 지침, 현장 교원들의 의견을 반영하여 초중고 대상 학교에 배부되었으며, 한국어학급 교원들이 실질적으로 활용할 수 있도록 구성되었다. 

통합학급 운영 도움 자료는 통합학급과 한국어학급의 이해, 생활지도 및 학습지도 실제, 수업사례 등을 포함하여 통합학급 교원들이 교육과정을 원활하게 운영할 수 있도록 지원하고 있다.

특히, 이주배경학생 보호자 안내자료는 한국 교육체계, 출결 및 체험학습, 학교생활 용어, 보호자의 역할 등 필수 정보를 담고 있어, 보호자들이 이주배경학생의 학교생활 적응을 돕고 교육에 대한 이해와 참여를 높일 것으로 기대된다.

충남교육청은 자료 개발 외에도 상호문화 이해 교육 강화, 이주배경학생 한국어 교육 확대, 밀집학교 소통 활성화 환경 조성, 한국어교원 양성과정 직무연수 운영 등 다양한 지원을 통해 공존과 공영의 다문화 교육을 추진할 계획이다.
