대전경찰청이 지난 10일 대전 서구 모 초등학교에서 교사에게 피살된 故김하늘 양 사건과 관련하여 피의자의 수사 상황을 업데이트했다. 

18일 대전경찰청이 언론에 알린 피의자 A교사는 현재 중환자실에 입원 중이며, 수술 전에 구두로 진술한 바 있으며, 중환자실에서도 단답형으로 대답하는 방식으로 진술을 이어가고 있다고 전했다.

대전경찰은 현재 산소호흡기를 착용하고 있어 추가 조사는 불가능한 상황이지만 경찰은 수사에 필요한 사실관계를 수시로 확인하고 있는 상태라고 밝혔다.

향후 수사 진행과 관련해서 대전경찰청은 "전담수사팀은 현재까지의 수사 내용을 바탕으로 피의자의 범행이 계획적일 가능성에 무게를 두고 수사 중이다"라는 입장을 밝혔다.

다만, 구체적인 계획성 여부와 범행 동기에 대해서는 추가적인 수사를 통해 보다 면밀히 확인할 예정이라고 밝힌 대전경찰청은 이를 위해 피의자의 핸드폰 포렌식 자료, 컴퓨터 자료, 의료기록 등을 분석하고 있으며, 범행 동기와 사전 계획 여부를 명확히 밝히기 위한 노력을 기울이고 있다면서 강력한 수사를 진행하고 있음을 확인시켰다.

한편 학생들에게 가장 안전한 장소로면 여겨졌던 학교에서 교사로부터 살해당 한 故김하늘 양의 비극적인 사건은 지역 사회에 큰 충격을 주었으며, 경찰은 사건의 진상을 규명하고 피해자의 가족에게 정의를 세우기 위해 최선을 다하고 있는것으로 알려졌다.
