대전 동구가 신인동 24-53번지 일원에 조성한 신인동 공영주차장의 준공을 완료하고, 본격적으로 개방한다고 13일 밝혔다. 

이번 공영주차장은 총 26면 규모로 조성되었으며, 주민들에게 무료로 개방된다.

신인동 공영주차장은 동 행정복지센터 인근의 협소한 주차 공간으로 인해 불편을 겪어온 주민들의 주차난 해소를 위해 추진되었다. 총사업비 15억 원이 투입된 이 프로젝트는 지난해 6월 착공하여 올해 2월에 준공을 완료했다.

동구는 지난해 11월 준공된 가양2동 공영주차장을 포함한 주차 인프라 확충 사업이 주민들로부터 큰 호응을 얻고 있는 만큼, 지속적으로 추진할 계획이다. 현재 삼성동과 용운동의 공영주차장 조성 사업도 순조롭게 진행되고 있다.

삼성동 공영주차장은 삼성동 321-10번지 일원에 총사업비 34억 원을 투입해 부지면적 838.1㎡에 29면 규모로 오는 5월 준공될 예정이다. 

용운동 공영주차장은 용운동 285-9번지 일원에 주차면 수 62면(지하 1층, 지상 1층) 규모로 내년 3월 준공을 목표로 하고 있다.

박희조 동구청장은 “신인동 공영주차장 개방으로 인근 주민들의 주차난 해소와 함께 동 행정복지센터 이용이 한층 편리해질 것으로 기대한다”며, “앞으로도 주민 불편 해소를 위해 주차 인프라 확충에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
