태안군이 지역 축산업의 경쟁력 강화를 위해 올해 축산업 지원 사업에 총 45억 원의 예산을 투입한다고 밝혔다. 

군은 "친환경 축산, 기술혁신 축산"이라는 비전 아래, 한·육우 육성, 낙농 육성, 중소가축 육성, 조사료 생산기반 확대, 축산환경 개선 및 재해대책 등 5개 분야에 대한 지원 사업을 추진할 계획이다.

각 분야별로 세부 지원 내용은 다음과 같다. '한·육우 육성' 분야에는 6억 원을 투자해 한우 육질 개선, 한우 핵군우 농가 육성, 쇠고기 이력 추적제, 한우 광역브랜드 육성 등 23개 사업을 진행한다. 

'낙농 육성'에는 3억 6천만 원을 투입하여 젖소 사육농가 헬퍼 지원, 낙농시설 현대화 지원 등 14개 사업을 추진한다.

특히 '조사료 생산기반 확대 사업'에는 22억 원이 배정되어 조사료 생산용 사일리지 제조, 사료작물 재배용 비료, 사료작물 종자대 등 14개 사업이 포함된다. 

또한, '중소가축 및 축산환경 개선' 분야에서는 13억 4천만 원을 투자해 양농농가 모돈 갱신 지원, 양계농가 장비자재 지원, 축산악취 저감 등 39개 사업을 펼칠 예정이다.

올해 축산업 지원 사업 수요조사 결과, 누적 2100명이 신청했으며 이는 예산액의 157%에 해당한다. 군은 소외되는 농가 없이 철저한 지원 기준에 맞춰 대상자를 선정할 방침이다.
