대전 대덕구가 을사년 정월대보름을 맞아 신탄진 현도교 금강변 일원에서 개최한 ‘제26회 신탄진 대보름 쥐불놀이 축제’를 성황리에 마쳤다고 9일 밝혔다. 

이번 축제는 신탄진대보름 쥐불놀이 추진위원회(위원장 변용기)와 (사)대전사랑시민협의회(회장 박경수)가 공동 주관하여 우리 고유의 전통문화를 계승하고, 전 세대가 함께 어우러지는 화합의 장을 마련하고자 했다.

올해로 26회를 맞이하는 이번 축제에는 지역 주민 1000여 명이 참여했으며, 투호 던지기 ,제기차기 ,연날리기 등 전통 민속놀이를 체험하는 식전 행사로 막을 올렸다. 

이어 지신밟기 ,길놀이 ,소원 고사 및 액맥이 타령 ,초청 가수 공연 등이 펼쳐졌다.

이날 행사는 개회식을 시작으로 초청가수 2부 공연 ,소원 달집태우기 ,강강술래 국악공연 ,불꽃놀이 등으로 성황리에 마무리됐다.

최충규 대덕구청장은 “정월대보름을 맞아 전통 민속놀이를 직접 체험하며 가족, 이웃과 함께 따뜻한 정을 나누고, 우리 선조들의 지혜와 문화를 되새기는 시간이 되셨길 바란다”며, “쥐불놀이의 환한 불빛처럼 대덕구민 여러분의 가정에도 풍요와 행복이 가득하시길 기원한다”고 전했다.

한편, 쥐불놀이는 예로부터 한 해의 풍년을 기원하고 농경사회에서 병해충을 예방하는 전통 풍습으로, 대덕구는 전통의 가치를 보존하고 지역 주민들이 함께 어울릴 수 있도록 26년째 신탄진 대보름 쥐불놀이 축제를 지원·운영해 오고 있다. 

지난해에도 많은 주민들이 참여하여 전통문화를 함께 나누는 뜻깊은 시간을 가졌다.

Daejeon Daedeok-gu, Shintanjin Daeboreum Rat Fire Festival Held Successfully

Daejeon Daedeok-gu announced on the 9th that the ‘26th Shintanjin Daeboreum Rat Fire Festival’ held on the Geumgang Riverside of Shintanjin Hyundogyo Bridge to celebrate the first full moon of the year of Eulsa was successfully completed.

This festival was jointly hosted by the Shintanjin Daeboreum Rat Fire Festival Promotion Committee (Chairman Byun Yong-gi) and the Daejeon Love Citizens’ Council (Chairman Park Gyeong-su) to inherit our unique traditional culture and create a place for harmony where all generations can come together.

This year’s festival, which is in its 26th year, was attended by approximately 1,000 local residents, and the festival began with a pre-event where participants experienced traditional folk games such as tuho throwing, jegichagi, and kite flying.

This was followed by performances by Jisinbapgi, Gilnori, wishing rites, Aekmaek-i Taryeong, and invited singers.

The event on this day ended successfully with the opening ceremony, the second part of the invited singer's performance, burning of the wishing moon house, Ganggangsullae Korean traditional music performance, and fireworks.

Choi Chung-gyu, the mayor of Daedeok-gu, said, "I hope that this will be a time to experience traditional folk games and share warm feelings with family and neighbors on the first full moon of the lunar year, and to reflect on the wisdom and culture of our ancestors." He added, "I hope that Daedeok-gu residents' homes will be filled with abundance and happiness, just like the bright lights of the Jwibulnori."

Meanwhile, Jwibulnori has been a traditional custom since ancient times to pray for a good harvest and prevent pests in agricultural societies. Daedeok-gu has been supporting and operating the Shintanjin Jwibulnori Festival for 26 years to preserve the value of tradition and allow local residents to come together.

Last year, many residents participated and had a meaningful time sharing traditional culture.
