대전시가 지역혁신중심 대학지원체계(RISE) 사업을 위해 국비 약 124억 원을 추가로 확보하며, 총 680억 원의 국비 지원을 받게 되었다. 

이번 성과는 교육부가 지난 1월 실시한 ‘RISE 계획 및 체계 구축‧운영 우수지자체 선정 평가’에서 대전시가 ‘RISE 체계 구축‧운영 우수성 영역’에서 최우수, ‘RISE 계획 우수성 영역’에서 우수 지자체로 선정된 데 따른 것이다.

교육부의 국비 인센티브 총규모는 1500억 원이며, 대전시는 이 중 123.75억 원을 확보하여 17개 시도 평균(88.23억 원)보다 약 40% 높은 수준으로 RISE 계획 및 체계 구축 우수성을 인정받았다. 

교육부는 서면 평가와 영상 질의‧응답 평가를 통해 최종 결과를 발표하였으며, 대전시는 지역현황에 대한 체계적 분석과 RISE 비전 제시, 출연연과의 협력 노력 등에서 높은 평가를 받았다.

대전의 RISE 계획은 ‘ABCD+QR 경제과학도시 대전 구현을 위한 교육혁신 지‧산․학․연․관 협력 생태계 구축’이라는 비전 아래 5대 프로젝트와 12개 단위과제로 구성되어 있다. 

5대 프로젝트는 지역선도형 대학교육 특성화 ,지역 정주형 취‧창업 활성화 ,지속발전형 지‧산‧학‧연 협력 고도화 ,생애성장형 직업‧평생교육 강화 ,RISE 촉진형 지역현안 해결을 포함하고 있다.

특히, 대전시는 출연연과의 연구 협력 과제를 대표 과제로 설정하여 대전의 과학기술 혁신역량을 집결한 인재양성-연구개발-사업화로 연결되는 지역혁신모델 구축을 목표로 하고 있으며, 이를 위해 출연연 및 지역 산업계와의 협업을 강화할 계획이다.

대전시는 이번 달까지 2025년도 대전 RISE 시행계획을 수립하고, 관내 대학을 대상으로 공모 및 선정 평가를 거쳐 RISE 사업 추진에 나설 예정이다.

Daejeon City Secures Additional 12.4 Billion Won in National Funds for RISE Project

Daejeon City has secured an additional 12.4 billion won in national funds for the Regional Innovation Centered University Support System (RISE) project, and will receive a total of 68 billion won in national funds.

The five major projects include specialization of regional leading university education, activation of regional settlement-type employment and entrepreneurship, advancement of sustainable development-type cooperation between industry, academia, and research institutes, strengthening of career and lifelong education for lifelong growth, and resolution of regional issues promoting RISE.

In particular, Daejeon City has set research cooperation projects with research institutes as its representative tasks, and aims to establish a regional innovation model that connects talent training-R&D-commercialization by concentrating Daejeon's scientific and technological innovation capabilities. To this end, it plans to strengthen collaboration with research institutes and local industries.

Daejeon City plans to establish the Daejeon RISE implementation plan for 2025 by this month, and will proceed with the RISE project through a public offering and selection evaluation targeting universities in the city.
